A few Sundays ago, I got up and dressed to go out for a run. It doesn’t take much to get ready. My gear is laid out the night before, and truth be told, I could dress with my eyes closed. Or so I thought. 

Rona’s vacation theme started me thinking about how I plan to visit a new city.  

Anyone who knows me, knows that I believe that we all need to take vacations. We all work hard. For me, vacations are critical to recharge, our bodies, minds and souls.    My husband and I have recently been discussing how to maintain that sense of calmness we feel after a vacation. We have used the term vacation afterglow and discuss often how to maintain it.  

Shelly and I shared a nice show last night with Marisa.  It's special when you can still share great and meaningful songs by an original artist with your children.  Burton Cummings of The Guess Who sang and played the hits and more in a worthy performance at The Flagstar at Westbury Music Fair.

“Being honest may not get you many friends, but it will always get you the right ones.” The best I can tell, this quote is attributed to John Lennon.    The art of being honest with friends can be tricky. Some are blessed with the art of diplomacy and can say pretty much anything, and you'll thank them for it. Most don't say anything, while others carry and dispense truth like a hammer.   IMHO If you want your relationships to be deep and meaningful, you must be honest. Just do it with love.

I know that everybody has a back story and very few of us have it easy, but if you work in the service industry, service is your most important product! If I come into your establishment to enjoy myself, please do not tarnish my enjoyment with your attitude. If you are busy, that's good for business and should make you feel positive.  

We have three orchid plants. We haven’t seen flowers in years — most likely not since the flowers when we first bought the plants.There is a large plant and two smaller ones.

It seems like this week has been a break out week for the weather. A few back to back days in the 50's. Is this the start of spring or a head fake? With Spring upon us it should be easier for Gotham members to meet in between there regular meeting for there "Triad". For those that are not familiar, a "traid" is a breakfast or a lunch meeting with one or two others from Gotham, could be from your group or from another group. This happens inbetween your regular Gotham group meetings. Its a great opoortunity to meet other members in a one on one or one on two setting.
