I'm embarassed to say that this is my first vacation (more than one work day) in over three years. I was nervous and scared before I left. Seems silly to write but it's the truth. I enjoy my work, most of the time, and am devoted to it.   I'm on Watch Island which is one of the 1,000 islands on the St. Lawrence river between the US and Canada. It's peaceful with the exception of the 13 other friends that are here with me.
Someone once said there are 3 stages in life: youth, middle age and "you look good". Funny, but so true. My next birthday will be my 73rd and I'm pleased to say I'm comfortably in the third stage and plan to continue until I'm 100. I work very very hard in my daily battle with Father Time. Not many people would be willing to pay that price. Hard work is only part of it. Eating and drinking are important ingredients. As are supplements. If you are interested I will turn you on to my most recent ones. So it goes!
To all who celebrate the new year, best wishes for a Happy and Healthy New Year.
See this is the problem with the mob mentality.  When it surges without direction or ration, insane concepts slowly morph into rational solutions.  Somehow everyone and their brother seem to think that the big problem and pending solution to the Ray Rice/Domestic Violence controversy is to implement a policy that treats all domestic violence issues with the same standards for punishment...in many people's minds, a "Zero tolerance" policy.
Is it time to download IOS 8? I usually wait for a while before giving in to a new operating system. It took me ages to give in to IOS 7 and when I did, I had very quick regrets. Yes, I got over it with a little time but that leaves me hesitating about accepting the upgrade that stares at me now every time I turn on my phone.
Fred’s blog about his morning swim made me anxious. I cannot conceive of waking up that early so many mornings in a row to travel to a pool to swim. I practically force myself, by taping my favorite trashy reality television, to wake up forty-five minutes early three days a week to go downstairs and walk on my treadmill. I am definitely not a morning person.
The thought has occurred to me over the years, that if terrorism in the U.S. became so bad and I had to move to another country, where would I go?  I have no plans to do this, and just renewed my lease.  But what if?
I have always been a Jay Z fan (Brooklyn roots) and a love of rap music.   How he handled himself in the elevator incident with his sister in law was exactly what the quote  above exemplifies.   Why doesn't anyone talk about that??!?
